DragonRaid Avoids Certain Doom and Gets a New Home
Well, maybe that's over dramatizing things a bit, but DragonRaid, the Christian paper and pencil role playing game came close to being tossed into the garbage heap.  If it wasn't for the efforts of the game's Internet support group, this was the likely scenario.

For the last dozen years or so, DragonRaid has resided in Colorado Springs inside a barn.  Thousands of unsold games were warehoused here for free by an old DragonRaid supporter.  However, the property and the Barn were sold recently and the DragonRaid folks had to scramble to decide what would become of all the unsold games.

Joe Revesz and others (Including Dick Wulf, creator of the game) came to the games' rescue and volunteered to provide them a new home.  While this might not be intense news, this is a bit of history which may someday be remembered fondly if the DragonRaid 2nd Edition proves successful. It also reveals something about the grass roots efforts to bring quality, cutting edge games to the Christian marketplace. Read all about Joe's exploits here in the news section.

You can read our review of DragonRaid here.

Unity Card Game Announces Open Beta Test
The makers of the card game, Unity, have been working on an online version of their unique game.  This is a very early beta test.  The game currently has no graphics but it has nearly all the functionality and gameplay of the original.  You don't need to know how to play Unity to enjoy this beta test.  The game AI helps you decide which cards to play.  Even so, it's best to read up on the card game online first.  To take part in the beta, go here.  To find out more about the game, go here.  There is only one requirement before you can play the game.  You need to provide feedback on how the game played (a graphics version is planned as a next step).  Write here with any comments about the Unity Test.  If you'd like to read our review of Unity (We thought it was pretty dang good), read all about it here.

Heaven Quest Computer Board Game
This is one of the few Christian computer games created in the last one or two years.  This one is a straight forward "roll the dice and move forward" board game that's reminiscent of many children board games on the market today.  Don't let the simplicity fool you, however, Top Meadow has created a very solid game in Heaven Quest.  Read the full review here

E3:  The "Peep Show for Nerds" Trade Show!
Well, Eric Slick is back.  The Trade Show called E3 is as big and amazing as the rumors suggest.  At first glance, however, Eric got the distinct impression that the backbone of the show might not be those big rollouts of much hyped games or the technological terror demonstrations of new hardware, but something else far more sinister.  Read Eric's somewhat humorous and slightly cynical account of his visit to E3 here or click on the News button.

DragonRealms and GemStone III?  Not Christian games but are they worth trying out until a Christian game comes along?
People have been asking when I was going to write a review on the games I have worked on (and still do).  I work for a secular online gaming company called Simutronics.  They gave me my start in this business and while I would love to see a Christian online RPG (see Project X), this is how I make my living.  These are fun games which I've grown to love.  However, I've tried to be honest about the difficulties a Christian would have with either of these games.  For the full reviews, check out DragonRealms or GemStone III or go to the reviews section of this website.  You'll want to read them both since they each have a different perspective (and attitude) which form something of a whole.

Christian Gaming gets a new look
Our first web site was there just to get out word of our desire to create a Christian RPG and to provide a place for potential players and investors to gather information about the project.  However, we intend the site to be much more.

Now you can use this site to find out about everything there is to know about Christian Gaming on the web.  You'll find information, reviews and links of interest to Christian Gamers.  OK, maybe we don't have "everything" but we'd like to so if you know of something we are missing, please let us know by emailing us at cgaming@christiangaming.com and we'll do our best to add it to our content.

We are continually trying to improve our site so please check with us regularly and don't forget to look at the latest news on our project to create an online Christian RPG, code named Project "X".
