Here is a quick rundown of the various
Christian Paper and Pencil Roleplaying games out there. This was
lifted from a post in our Forums

1)DRAGONRAID--The
granddaddy of em all. This game came out a number of years back
and still has a loyal following. A discription of the game reads
thus; DragonRaid is an exciting experience in adventure simulation.
More than just a game, it offers hours of enjoyment while teaching
participation to resist sin, counter deceptive arguments, memorize
Scripture, and build moral and spiritual character. The DragonRaid
system encompasses many different adventures. On the mythical world
of EdenAgain, players meet challenges that parallel real life. The
imagined dangers compel them to grapple with conflicting values,
discover how faith in Christ can shape behavior, and reflect on
what is really worth living and dying for.

2)METALFACE--This
game comes to us from ETERNAL TEMPEST PRODUCTIONS.
Metalface is the role playing game of robot heroes. Set in the mid-22nd
century, a new world peace has led to amazing advances in science
and technology. But this power is out of control and has begun to
destroy the human race. A new breed of mankind has become robotic
in nature and has been dubbed 'Metalface.' These are the heros and
villians of the future.
This game is FREE from either the ETP homepage or from www.rpg.com.
It is professionally done and I find it an easy read.

3)ARCHANGEL:
THE STORY OF GOD AND HIS ANGELS--This is the game that really
opened my eyes to christian gaming because it included a character
class that reflected the views of some of my friends: the skeptic!
It also grabbed my attention because of its historical setting which
is found in the games dicscription of its homepage:In the year of
435 BC, God closed the Holy Book for a span of 400 years. During
that time, Lucifer made another assault on the throne of the Almighty.
His attack was aimed not at Heaven directly, but at followers of
God, the Israelis. By removing the chosen people, God's influence
on the world would be greatly diminished.
Lucifer unleashed the hordes of
demons and false angels against the world. False prophets strengthened
by the powers of evil began to sway those who would listen and destroy
those who would not. To protect His chosen, God bestowed great men
and women with His awesome power and released the Host of angels
to aid them.
The Prophet War, as it came to be
known, spanned across a period of almost 400 years. Through the
rise and fall of nations, the battles raged on throughout the spiritual
and earthly plane. Angels, demons, and humans fought for an eternal
prize.

4)CELESTIUS
EX--From CROWN OF THORNS STUDIOS, Celestius Ex is a game
of angels combating the evil on Earth in modern times. Players will
take the role of angels as they go on missions for God and do his
will while protecting everything he loves. As angels perform each
mission, they will face demons, hoards of monsters and the vileness
of humans. In there missions, angels will bring light into people's
lives as they help each person rediscover God and his son, Jesus.
There is also FREE expansion book called Ex Inhereditare. It's focus
is on the human side of the spiritual battle. It can be found at
www.rpgnow.com. CoTS is working on a seperate(?) sci-fi game called
NEBULAR CROSS. Info on it can be found in the links section of the

5)SPIRITUALWARFARE
THE RPG--From GOLGOTHA GAMES comes this game that takes
traditional fantasy rpgs head on and wins to the glory of God! It
has dwarves, elves and halflings. It has it's own FOES FOLIO. It
throws out magic and brings RHEMA and verse memorization to center
stage. It has rules for preaching and converting the lost. This
game and settinng offers a lot of the familiar and more of the new.
That's not all because there's also BLAZE OF GLORY, a wild west
setting that uses the SWRPG rules. Strap on your six shooter, mount
your horse and ride for heaven. What could be more fun? Golgotha
is also developing a sci-fi setting called TRIBULATION 3020. Not
a lot about this yet, but with GOLGOTHAS track record so far, it's
only a matter of time. ALso check out thier tee shirts, coffee mugs,

6)HOLY
LANDS:THE DARK AGES--This is another game that takes on
traditional rpgs head on. I mean really head on. This is what their
site has to say: The distinctions between Holy Lands and other role-playing
games are its keys to excellence. First of all, Holy Lands stands
alone because its fundamental ideal is based upon the Christian
principle that morality is 'black-and-white'. Holy Lands has the
boldness to distinguish virtue from evil! That is to say that the
foundation for game-play is to make a clear distinction between
good and evil because God, likewise, recognizes the distinction
by knowing our hearts. Other games keep things vague or 'gray' because
that is how we understand it in our world; it gives the illusion
of realism. But Holy Lands "goes for the throat" by calling
evil EVIL and even kind-of-evil EVIL. For example, casting spells
of any kind requires a person to be evil because all magic is rooted
in the study of the demonic forces. .....See what I mean? I find
the first edition to be solid but they will have a second edition
available in june 2003.
